It has good mixed stats, but terrible special moves, and nothing that isn't covered by a better physical move. And no special STAB options either. I think it only gets the given set.

The only good special attacks available are earth power (which is way outclassed by its bigger and invested attack with earthquake) Dragon pulse (no) and focus blast (doesn't hit anything EdgeQuake misses). Heat wave could be good I suppose, but it's a tutor move, and after EdgeQuake, flying stab, and u turn or knock off, it's gonna be tough to get on there. Plus, the only thing that really resists EdgeQuake plus acrobatics is bronzong, who can easily be trapped or cleaned by knock off.

I don't think a mixed set is really worth it. It needs max speed and max attack EVs to be useful (because with its ability, it can't afford to settle for a 2HKO when it could do a 1HKO, and it can't afford to be outsped either), and its special attack is way too low without any EVs.
And it doesn't really have a great special movepool either.

Also gems are not available in XY right? So I say either Choice Band, Wide Lens or Muscle Band...

Yeah, give it one of those, it's probably best to run scarf or no item, but we have a million scarves already.

Oh I forgot Scarf. Scarf is good too. And we don't have THAT many of them. But yeah Wide Lens would be cool, I don't think we got any yet.

*Rushes to see what Wide Lens does* I agree, Wide Lens is cool, as it looks usable and we haven't got one yet I'm basically swimming in Scarfs at this point.

Wide Lens are pretty useful on a pokemon like Archen whose main move is Stone Miss.

Stone Miss hits more often than Focus Miss

Why don't you just pick pokemon you haven't already bred?

It would be less boring for you, and it would allow other people to breed more stuff...

These are 12.5% females. Its better if I breed these b/c I'd have less trouble. I'm doing Relicanth next as I still have Dive Ball leftovers(also 12.5% females) and even have a 12.5% female from when I bred them if you guys like the set I already have.

I'm working on side projects if I finish these early just to keep myself busy as side projects lately I breed as shinies.

You think its safe to put this as In Progress? Pretty much has been cleared that only Physical is worth it though I was looking forward to breeding some 6IV Hidden Power.

Also wanted to give myself more of a reason to breed a shiny Archen which is also why I took it.

Wait a while even though its basically been cleared so everyone else gets an opportunity to potentially pick a second pokemon before you move onto your third.

Yeah, keep this In Discussion for a while. You can probably start collecting egg moves without tellling us, but this has been up nowhere near long enough to be considered In Progress.

Sorry, we don't want to hold you back, the last thing we want is for you to feel disenfranchised with the project, but there's a reason we're not charging at this full speed. The pace is as it is for a good reason.
